| I downloaded Service Pack 3 recently and immediately got the blue screen and could get nothing else. I had to take my laptop to a shop to get the hard drive cleared and everything reloaded, costimg a lot of money. I have written to MicroSoft but just got a bland reply. I think that they owe me money. Has anybody else had this happen? The shop had never seen it before. Why did it happen | |

| Read your EULA and the agreement you clicked on to install SP3. Maybe your laptop was faulty and was getting flaky and when you tried to install SP3 it died. In other words, it was a coincidence that it blue screened at that time. Anyway, it's fixed now, we'll never know what happened. Click here for more info about sp3 | |

| you should use it if you don't have SP3 installed and wait for the dust to settle before using it. they know there are issues with SP3...that's why they came out with this: SP3 Issues | |
